Overview
Mattupetty Dam, built under the Pallivasal Hydro-electric project in the early 1950s, is a scenic gravity dam situated 13 km from Munnar at an elevation of 1,700 m. The perennial lake mirrors lush tea gardens and rolling hills, offering boating, wildlife sightings, and cattle grazing views. A favorite among families and nature lovers.
